Covid - 19

The health and well-being of our students is our first priority

Guidelines

Every child will be given a temperature scan and illness check at the time of drop off before entering the classroom. If their forehead temperature is showing 99.5 F or above, and/or a child is showing other signs of illness, then the child cannot be admitted for that day.

Drop-off (8:00 am – 9:30 am): To avoid congestion at drop off time and enforce social distancing, we are extending the drop off time to 1.5 hours, between 8:00 am to 9:30 am.
Parents for better social distancing we are requiring to wait at the front door and other parents to wait at the gate.

To keep the classrooms sanitary, parents are not permitted to enter the classrooms or school. Please wait by the front door and a teacher in charge will bring your child inside the classroom.

You do not need to sign in/out, the school will do that for you. Parents with older siblings in other classrooms are asked to drop their older child(ren) first to minimize traffic.

Pickup: Parents are requested to pick up their child from the same location as where you dropped off your child. Non-extended care children should be picked up at 3:00 pm and children in PM extended care must be picked up before 6:00 pm. Please follow the same rules as drop off. Do not enter the classroom, just stand by the door and a teacher will bring your child to you.

Additional items to bring for your child & info:

• An additional pair of indoor shoes to be left at school. (Regular rubber sole walking shoes that have been cleaned with the bottom preferably bleached/sanitized. No slippers or flip flops, as they are not safe.)

• 2 acrylic shoe boxes with lids to store their indoor and outdoor shoes separately.

• All water/milk bottles brought to school must have a lid/cap. Additional Info: • The shortened extended care hours allow us to schedule an additional teacher to be in the classroom at the same time to enforce students social distancing and sanitizing routine.

• All children upon arrival at the classroom door will be checked with a forehead thermometer for fever as well as other signs of illness. Please wait until we have done this quick check and given you the okay to leave.

• All area rugs and work rugs have been removed. No circle time will be conducted.

• Once an item or an activity is completed it will be put away for sanitizing.

• The children will be sleeping 6 feet apart. All surfaces including sleeping areas are sanitized daily and will be done at multiple times.

• Please do not enter the classroom or school, a teacher will come to the door to bring your child in and out for drop off and pick up. At the end of the day they will pack up all the items you need to take home.

• Your child will need a pair of indoor shoes to remain at school as their outdoor shoes will not enter the classroom and will be kept outside the classroom. You can take the indoor shoes home every Friday for cleaning and sanitizing, and then bring them back the following Monday. The same will be for the teachers.

• If your child is sick, please call or email the office to inform us of the symptoms and diagnosis.

• The school is divided into 2 rooms. The children are also placed in two groups (7 each or fewer). They will only interact within their own group. The children will not be shifted from one group to another.

• We will continue to implement Montessori curriculum. We have enough materials and toys to rotate all day even with sanitizing multiple times. Once an item or an activity is mouthed the items will be put away for sanitizing. All classroom materials will be sanitized daily and multiple times.

• During nap, the children’s sleep cots will be kept 6 feet away from each other for maximum distancing.

• Outdoor play time will be staggered to one group at a time (7 children or less). Playground toys and equipment will be sanitized after each use.

• For lunch box, please pack two wash cloths every day along with their usual cutlery.

• Please do not enter the classroom or school, a teacher will come to the door to bring your child in and out for drop off and pick up. At the end of the day they will pack up all the items you need to take home.

• For safety reasons and disinfecting routines, please remember at the pickup time to take your child home and do not allow them to play on school grounds.

• If your child is sick, please call or email the office to inform us of the symptoms and diagnosis.
